Using Kulnabooks
What is Kulnabooks?
A point of sale for the counter and a back office for everything behind it — stock, purchasing, invoices, accounting and reports — in one system, in Arabic and English.
Does it work without internet?
Yes, at the till. The browser till and the Windows app keep the product list on the device, keep selling while offline, and send the sales in order when the connection returns. The back office needs a connection, and so do refunds and coupon codes.
Which devices do I need?
Any computer or tablet with a modern browser runs the till and the back office. For a counter with a receipt printer and cash drawer, use the Kulnabooks POS app for Windows.
Which receipt printers work?
The Windows app prints to 58 mm and 80 mm thermal receipt printers (ESC/POS), with your logo, Arabic text, a barcode and a QR code, and opens the cash drawer on cash sales. The browser till prints through the browser.
Is it in Arabic?
Yes. Every screen, receipt and report works in Arabic and English, and you can switch between them at any time.
Selling and stock
Which payment methods can I take?
Cash, card, mobile and bank transfers such as Bankak, and sales on account for customers with a credit limit. One sale can be split across several of them, and you can record the transfer reference.
Can I run more than one branch?
Yes. Each branch has its own stock and tills, you can transfer stock between branches, and reports can show one branch or all of them. The number of branches depends on your plan.
Can I import my products?
Yes, from a CSV file, including barcodes and prices.
Does it handle VAT?
Yes. VAT can be on or off for your business, with prices including or excluding VAT, a rate per product, and a VAT report.
Can I track expiry dates and serial numbers?
Yes. Batches with expiry dates are sold soonest-expiring first, and serial numbers or IMEIs can be recorded for each unit.
Account and security
Is my data safe?
Your data is backed up every night and the backups are checked every week. Each person signs in with their own account and role, a sign-in code by e-mail can be required for everyone, and an audit log records who changed what.
Can customers check that a receipt is real?
Yes. Every receipt and invoice has a QR code. Scanning it shows whether the document is valid, voided or unknown, from your records.
